Our History
NBNVS is a registered voluntary organisation working since 1993. It is based in Ballia, one of the most backward districts in Uttar Pradesh and is committed for changing lives of the rural and urban people in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It envisions a society free from all sorts of exploitation
The organisation is a team of activists struggling to ensure fundamental rights for Dalits, minorities, and women, who collectively are the most deprived and marginalised sections of the society. It educates, agitates, and organises the people for their betterment.
NBNVS has tried to promote leadership at the local level to empower the community to tackle and overcome the constraints and problem being faced by it. Along with this, it has also learnt a lot from its work in the operational area. It is striving to break new grounds and has tried to strike a balance between the elements of “autism” and “development”.
Today NBNVS has become an alternative for implementing women empowerment and child education programmes in Ballia district. People’s support is its backbone, and goodwill of government organisations and donor agencies is the pillar of strength on which the organisation stands erect.
The founder members of the organisation are local people and thus reflect the sentiment and needs of the people of the area. In this sense it is a truly grassroots voluntary organisation.
